Dine United, a program designed to encourage eating at local establishments and support United Way, has eight local business taking part in the program.
Interurban, The Territory, Giuseppe's Italian Dinning, Don Jose Mexican Food, Jonny's at Oak Tree, Rib Crib, LaTaqueria and Don Jose Tortilla Grill will all participate in the week long event.
Ed Darling, Executive Director of the United Way of Stephens County, said the program is beneficial for both local businesses and the United Way. "We hope to accomplish three goals with the program," he said. "We want to encourage our residents to enjoy some unique dining opportunities here. We want to include those restaurants in our annual campaign to raise $325,000 and we want to expand our donor base in support of our 14 partner agencies."
During the week, businesses will pick specific nights to donate a percentage of the evening's revenue to the United Way campaign.
"It will, obviously, be a great time to take the family out to dinner," Darling said."and it will be great for us if everyone is really hungry."
Interurban, Don Jose Tortilla Grill will start off the week on Monday. Jonny's at Oak Tree begins on Tuesday; Interurban and Rib Crib on Wednesday; The Territory and Giuseppe's Thursday. The Territory will end the event Friday night.
"We're really grateful for the generosity of our restaurants," Darling said. "We know the volunteers who work so hard in our agencies and the agencies they serve create a good and worthy cause. The menu selection will be expansive and diversified, the food wonderful and we believe everone will have a good time. And for once, we hope patrons have to stand in line for a good seat."
